ABC was my first so long trekking ever. That’s why I took everything I thought it would be needed and more, just in case. So I ended up taking 3 t-shirts, 2 pairs of pants, first aid kit, 5 pairs of socks and undies, jacket, fleece jacket, sweater, 2 caps, 2 scarfs, a metal cup, water heater and many other things. At the same time Nadia, who was trekking with me had 1 small backpack, 1 sleeping bag, 1 sweater, 1 t-shirt and some underwear. Ta-dah! I’m not counting the food, because it is important to have food on you. But because of all those things I didn’t really need, my backpack was heavy, and up “there” every 1 kg weighs twice (or more). So, in order to spare you all the trouble I’ve decided to give you some tips what to take, what not to take and other tips about your future ABC trek.
Although I know it is possible to explore Nepal without going to Himalaya I knew I wouldn’t feel complete if I didn’t go there. But I didn’t want to go there alone. For my luck I’ve found Nadia, who posted on CS that she wanted to go to ABC (Annapurna Base Camp) and 2 days later we started our trek together. Initially we started it with an Aussie – Tom, but after 15 minutes we let him go. He was way to fast for us.
